My Profile


Marcel Y. El_Jalkh  born in Lebanon in 1963 getting a Diploma of Interior Designer from Kaslik University (USEK) in 1989.  I am the sole proprietor of a small general interior design firm called Imagsketch for Engineering. It Was founded in 1994 at Bhersaph, Lebanon and coordinated with many countries especially for furniture’s  Materials & Accessories (Lebanon, Canada, Paris, Italy, China, India).. I wear many hats: designer, draftsman, accountant, secretary, office manager.  We work totally on Auto Cad and Microsoft Office, on 4 networked computers and 2 home computers (with dial up capability).

Overview

Imagsketch for Engineering is seeking a seasoned information interior design responsible for translating client business objectives and user needs into successful and usable online solutions. The position is responsible for interior design, the site organization and user experience which serves as the blue print for the creative design and site development.

Experience with user interface design, information design, and navigational and content presentation best practices is critical. The information architect will utilize research techniques including surveys, end user interviews, web analytic, user personal development, heuristic evaluation and user testing. Working in team environment, the Information interior will create and present solution concepts for clients, including the development of site maps, wire frames, navigation standards, content inventories, functional requirements, use case models and flowcharts. Writing and content development expertise is strongly desired.

My responsibilities are as follows
 
As Interior Designer, “creating, planning, designing, landscaping, supervising and executing interior environments of Villas”.

Confers with client to determine interior design preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments.

Integrates findings with knowledge of interior design and formulates environmental plan to be practical, esthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving life style of occupants, also distributing points of electrical, sanitary and fault-ceiling.

Advises client on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination.

Renders design ideas in form of paste ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimates material requirements and costs, and presents design to client for approval.

Selects or designs and purchases furnishings, art works, and accessories.

Subcontracts fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, art work, furniture, and related items.

May specialize in particular field, style, or phase of interior design.

May specialize in decorative aspects of interior design and be designated Interior Decorator.  As per the taste of the client, I am coordinating with him as inquiry of style (oriental, Spanish, Europe and modern style).

A minimum of 23 years experience in interior design navigating in different countries (Canada, Lebanon, Kuwait) with a proven track record of designing user interfaces and user experiences.
